Right now, HV engineers from across the Nomad Electric Group are working at the same time on more than ten high-voltage projects in Poland and Romania. It is easy to talk about gigawatts and megawatt-hours in the abstract, but behind every number there is a team somewhere on a site, in a control room or at a design desk, moving a project one step closer to energization.
Nomad Electric acts as EPC contractor, building utility-scale PV farms together with a standalone 300 MWh battery energy storage system. These are projects designed from the ground up to feed power into real grids, at a scale that demands serious engineering discipline from day one.
At the same time, Nomad Grid is running several HV substation projects for distribution system operators in Poland, all delivered under Design & Build contracts. That model means our teams carry responsibility for a project from the first line on a drawing through to the moment a substation is switched on and handed over. On top of design and construction, we also provide full operation and maintenance, plus SCADA, for every type of HV asset we work with – solar, wind, and battery storage alike.
None of this would be possible without specialised teams spread across EU. Designers, project managers, site managers, electricians, and commissioning specialists form an internal expert network that lets us take an HV project all the way from concept through to operation, in multiple locations at once. That is the real backbone of our services.
Geographically, the group’s expertise is organised around clear centres of gravity. Our HV design hub for PV and BESS projects is based in Gdańsk, where engineers translate renewable energy concepts into buildable technical designs. The HV team responsible for power grid projects sits in Kraków, working closely with distribution operators on substation design and delivery. Our Monitoring Centre, which keeps watch over installations across Europe around the clock is in Łódź. The wind OEM hub, focused on original equipment manufacturer relationships and wind-specific engineering, is based in Koszalin. And in Warsaw, we run the headquarters for SCADA systems as well as the operations base for Nomad Electric Services, our dedicated O&M company.
Together, these locations form a single, connected structure rather than a set of separate offices. It is this combination of specialised local hubs and one shared way of working that lets Nomad Electric Group run over ten high-voltage projects at once, across two countries, without losing sight of the details that make each one succeed.
As our footprint in Poland and Romania keeps growing, so does this network of HV engineers, designers and site specialists. It is a good reminder that behind every gigawatt figure we share publicly there is a very specific, very human structure of people and locations making it happen.
