Expansion of 400/220/110 kV Polkowice substation by Nomad Grid

Nomad Grid, acting as the Consortium Leader, has officially signed a contract for the design and construction of three 110 kV bays at the  400/220/110 kV Polkowice substation. This 20-month project follows a “Design and Build” formula, covering the full technical spectrum: from comprehensive engineering documentation and civil works to the supply and installation of high-voltage apparatus, including circuit breakers, transformers, control cabinets, and advanced automation systems. A key technical requirement of the contract is the seamless integration of the new 110 kV bays with existing 220 kV and 400 kV infrastructure while ensuring uninterrupted substation operation.

This project serves as a definitive validation of our engineering expertise within the high-voltage (HV) sector. Beyond technical execution, the expansion of the Polkowice substation is a vital contribution to Poland’s energy transition. By strengthening regional grid reliability and enabling the integration of increased renewable energy (RES) capacities, Nomad Grid continues to build the foundation for a modern, secure, and resilient national power system.
