Nomad Electric has finalized the construction of its first hybrid project executed in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) formula, integrating a solar power plant with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This represents a key milestone for the company as it moves beyond the traditional role of a general contractor to deliver intelligent, comprehensive solutions for the modern energy sector.
As part of the project, Nomad Electric not only delivered and integrated the storage system with the existing photovoltaic installation but also implemented a proprietary Energy Management System (EMS). This system is powered by the company’s in-house nomad nx software, built on a SCADA framework. The entire infrastructure was designed and implemented in accordance with the highest cybersecurity standards, specifically ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
The installation is engineered to provide full support to the Polish power system. Utilizing a proprietary Power Plant Controller (PPC), the system guarantees full compliance with grid codes (NC RfG). The facility will provide a wide range of services—from price arbitrage on energy markets to critical ancillary services such as frequency regulation (FCR, aFRR) and power reserve. Additionally, the installation will support Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in voltage regulation and reactive power compensation, enhancing local infrastructure stability and enabling more efficient balancing of dynamic renewable energy sources.
“This project is a strategic execution and an investment in Nomad Electric’s continued growth within the energy storage and advanced hybrid farm management sectors,” said Paweł Muszyński, Chief Commercial Officer and Board Member of Nomad Electric. “Integrating PV systems with BESS, combined with the implementation of our proprietary nomad nx SCADA as a central Energy Management System, allows us to significantly deepen our operational expertise. The experience gained here directly translates into the efficiency of future ventures and strengthens our position as a trusted partner in building flexible and stable energy infrastructure.”
